What are distributions?
The State Treasurer administers the disbursement of funds for the state’s various endowment challenge fund matching programs – the Hathaway Scholarship and the Excellence in Higher Education programs – and distributes lottery and other monies collected for local governments and other state agencies.
DISTRIBUTIONS TO COUNTIES
Quarterly distributions are made to counties, with monies coming from the Federal Government, the sale of lottery tickets, and state reimbursements for certain tax exemptions.
DISTRIBUTIONS TO MUNICIPALITIES
Quarterly distributions are made to municipalities, with monies coming from the Federal Government, from mineral severance taxes, and the sale of lottery tickets.
FEDERAL MINERAL ROYALTIES
Federal Mineral Royalties received from the Federal Government less than $200 million get distributed to the following funds: Cities and Towns, University of Wyoming, School Foundation, Highway Department, State Lands and Investments Capitol Construction and School District Capitol Construction.
Federal Mineral Royalties received from the Federal Government over $200 million get distributed to the funds above but also go to the School Foundation and Budget Reserve.
Coal Lease Bonuses received from the Federal Government get distributed to the following entities or funds: Cities, Counties, Special Capitol Construction Highway, Community Colleges, and School Capitol Construction.
